Olbermann Commentary on Republican Terrorism Ad

With an election coming up soon, you may see a few more political posts from me.

I continue to be impressed with Keith Olbermann's writing skill and eloquence in delivering commentary. Whether you are on the right or on the left, please take a minute to watch this commentary and let me know what you think.

Olbermann is one of the few proofs that courageous journalism isn't quite dead in this nation. Thanks, Gil.

As much as I dislike Keith Olbermann, I watched the clip anyway. I doubt I will ever be able to listen to him in an impartial manner, but I will at least try to explain my dislike.

Olbermann will rate as a "courageous journalist" in my book when I hear him spew his vitriol in the cause of right and wrong, rather than in the war of Left and Right. Journalism, in my dictionary, is "...direct presentation of facts or events with an attempt to minimize analysis or interpretation."

Every time I have someone refer me to an Olbermann article, it's not journalism, it's an op-ed piece that makes no effort to hide its partisanship and strives to find new ways to be disrespectful. I had enough of disrespect toward the office of the President when we were suffering through the Clinton impeachment, thanks very much. Therefore, Olbermann is more like a left-wing Rush Limbaugh than a journalist in my book.

The final blow came as Olbermann chose to use Edward R. Murrow's sign-off. I'd love to hear about any philosophical conviction in Keith Olbermann that comes close to that portrayed in Murrow in last year's movie (a must-see, by the way).

We have enough divisiveness in this country due to the two major parties' strategy of "polarize and conquer." I don't need talking heads like Olbermann or Limbaugh clogging my eardrums with more.
